I’ve been wanting a pair of Over the Knee boots, even though I knew it wasn’t going to be a trend that would be super flattering on me or that I would wear very often.
When I saw these burgundy ones on a fab sale at Nordstrom Rack, I couldn’t resist giving them a try.
Besides, I figured they would be perfect for this month’s How I Wear My series!
I love hats. Hats always elevate an outfit, don’t they? Plus they protect our skin from the harmful rays of the sun and they can cover up all sorts of sins … bad hair, dirty hair, gray roots.
Here I am with my new Coney Island natural toya straw fedora from Brooklyn Hat Company. I’m loving their high quality and attention to detail.
First I styled it dressy with a skirt (Kasper) and heels (Kohls). I always love my red bag (London Fog) with black and white.
Then I thought, who am I trying to kid that I’ll be comfortable teaching all day in a skirt and high heels? I changed to skinny jeans (Gap) and flats (Seychelles). I really liked both outfits.
Love the cool uneven hemline and the on trend Ikat print in ocean blues and spring greens.
This fab skirt even has a little half slip built in.
(This is the same embarrassed smile I had in most of my childhood pictures. Gee, I could’ve saved this shot for the backyard, right?)
I have a feeling I’m going to be spending a lot of time this spring in this pretty Embroidered Scalloped Hem Top with such lovely detail around the neckline and the hem. I love the 3/4 length sleeve and lightweight soft fabric. Check out the top in beautiful Sea Mist and Sunset Coral too.
A big thank you to Chadwicks for sending me this lovely outfit to review!
Do you love the cool look of pattern mixing but aren’t sure if you’re doing it right or you just don’t have the time to bother with it? This top is the perfect solution! The patterns are pre-mixed! Stripes on the front with a leopard herringbone pattern on the back. Love this! Of course like most style bloggers, I’m happy to mix patterns on my own, but I still love this top!
And hey, I finally found some boyfriend jeans I really like.
Yay Old Navy!

I felt a bit like Goldilocks recently looking for a chambray shirt. The shirt was either too big, too small, too dark, too light, too short, too stiff, or too boxy. So this middle-aged Goldilocks was thrilled to finally find this shirt that was just right! It’s Cloth and Stone (an Anthropologie brand) and I found it at Crossroads Trading, a store with new and gently used clothing to buy, sell, or trade.
It was the perfect color and length for me and so soft too. Isn’t the back detail cute?

Welcome to the FUN FASHION FRIDAY link up party! So excited that last week’s maiden voyage was such a success and thanks so much to all the fabulous ladies who linked up!
Here’s my look for the party today …
Close up of the bead trim …
When I came out in this sweater, the hubby said, “Where in the world do you even buy something like that?!” LOL. I love his funny reactions to my fashion sense. And I’m going to take it as a compliment whether or not he meant it as one!
So where do you buy a crazy fabulous sweater with ribbon and bead trim? The thrift store!
I had planned to pair the sweater with some flared jeans and clogs for a totally 70’s look, but the proportions just didn’t work. I went with skinnies and flats and was pleased with the results. What do you think?
The very best part of the sweater? It makes a charming little clink & tinkle when I walk! I wanted to do the twist all day! Hey, did I ever mention fashion can be fun?!
And speaking of fun, I thought it would be cool to feature a few of my favorite fun looks from last week’s link up. So hard to just pick a few! But here they are …
