NYFW Preview

For a fashionista, New York Fashion Week is like Christmas morning, birthday cake, and trip to Disneyland all rolled into one! It’s a chance to really experience the magic of fashion, the art and performance of it … and to see other people, from all over the world, all who love fashion just as much as you do.

I know bloggers get ribbed a bit for being a season ahead … (like talking spring trends in January!), but remember the designers are much further ahead than that. This February they will be showing collections for Fall/Winter 2019/2020!

 

This lovely sketch is courtesy of Son Jung Wan and gives a little hint of what’s to come down the runway in a couple of weeks. Son Jung Wan is always one of my very VERY favorite shows.  She always designs visions of glamour, punctuated with hints of whimsy.  I dream of wearing a Son Jung Wan piece some day!

Prepping for NYFW

It’s that time again, New York Fashion Week starts this week!  For fashionistas, NYFW is like Christmas, Disneyland, and birthday cake … all rolled into one!  We get to experience the creativity and the drama of the latest designs up close and personal!  We get to see fun friends we only ever get to see at fashion week!  And it’s the few days out of the year where we get to feel like rock stars …  I mean come on I hardly ever get “papped” on my way to school in the morning. Ha! Oh okay, let’s be honest, in NY street photographers aren’t exactly tripping over each other to take my photo either, but I will get my picture taken a couple of times!  And you never know who you might end up rubbing elbows with.  One time I got seated right behind Brad Goreski!  In another show, Kelly Osbourne (and her adorable little dog) were standing a foot away from me at the entrance.  I’ve spotted Olivia Palmero, Miss Jay Alexander, Kelly Cutrone, Louise Roe, real housewives, Project Runway contestants, and bloggers I’ve been following for years!
